According to the Migration Policy Institute, there are about 70,000 people who are undocumented in Hillsborough County. While the majority of undocumented people in Florida are Hispanic, there are also undocumented Black and Afro-Carribean immigrant populations. In addition, studies have shown that up to 20% of undocumented Hispanic people may choose primarily Black neighborhoods for their home to limit immigration interaction.
